It is a legal duty of every business to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of every employee. At GNC Engineering safety precautions are practiced at all times.

Workplace Guidelines

Wear protective clothing

Workers should always wear approved protective gear such as overalls, heavy duty gloves, safety glasses or goggles, steel capped boots and hard hats.  Workers should also be mindful of wearing baggy clothing or jewellery that may get entangled in the equipment and should take care to tie long hair back.

Must conform to Australian Standards. Eye protection required for use on all machinery

Clothing

Long sleeve, high vis top, steel capped boots, gloves worn or on carry clip at all times

GNC_HardHat

Hard hats

Worn correctly, not backwards, only approved liners underneath

GNC_SunSmart

Sun Smart

Worn correctly, not backwards, only approved liners underneath

GNC_Alcohol

No Drugs & Alcohol

Consumption, impairment, possession or sale of alcohol or illicit drugs is strictly prohibited

GNC_Smoking

No Smoking

No smoking on all sites and hire vehicle

GNC_Headphones

No Headphones

No wear of ear buds (music, phone etc) or noise cancelling headphones

GNC_Fatigue

Fatigue Management

10 hour breaks between shifts are mandatory. No operation of machinery if feeling of fatigue

GNC_Authorisations

Authorisation

Only a licensed & competent person to operate machinery / vehicle

GNC_Maintenance

Maintenance

Regular inspections and maintenance procedures to repair or replace any faulty machinery and other equipment

GNC_Cleaning

Cleaning

Regular cleaning of work stations, benches. Equipment to be stored away and floors to be cleaned every night

GNC_HeavyLifting

Heavy Lifting

Using machinery rather than manual labour for moving heavy pieces of sheet metal

GNC_Incidents

Incidents

All incidents & near misses must be reported to the site supervisor

GNC_SafeHandling

Safe Handling

Handling of all tools, equipment, oils and chemicals to adhere hazardous guidelines
